Hello Hello! Welcome to the third issue of The AfterShock! Today's edition includes a Black History Month Event Guide instead of our archive section (don't worry, it'll be back later). In news, we covered a documentary about the history of Africans in Europe, the UMD community's vigil and reaction to the deaths from shootings by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, along with men's basketball game coverage. We hope you enjoy and we'll see you next week!!

Spanish, French, Italian, English and more voices filled a room in Juan Ramón Jiménez Hall at the University of Maryland on Feb. 5.
These voices weren’t from the over 50 people in the room, but from the documentary “We Were Here: The Untold History of Black Africans in Renaissance Europe.”
Directed by Italian filmmaker Fred Kudjo Kuwornu, the documentary discusses the history of African people in Renaissance Europe through art.
Kuwornu said he wanted to make a documentary for high school or university students that would interest them in the topic, rather than be boring like history classes can be.
