Explore the 14th Amendment through film and conversation: Freedom is a Constant Struggle.
Join the university’s honors college on Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. in Anne Arundel Hall to watch the third episode of “Amend: The Fight for America,” a documentary series exploring the impact of the 14th Amendment. After viewing, participants will join a conversation led by history professor Christopher Bonner, working together to examine how the amendment’s ideals have shifted through generations. Learn while you eat at Black History Month Food for Thought Lunch Discussion
Enjoy a tasteful lunch and engage in conversation from noon to 1:15 p.m. every Wednesday until Feb. 25. Bring a friend and get ready to learn and partake in casual but thought-provoking conversations at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union Conference Room (1121).

Explore poetry through society from a Black lens: MLAW 2026
Join the university’s undergraduate law program at Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville, Maryland, on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. for their Black poetry and society night. Take a Field Trip with the Maryland Association of Black Journalists
Join MABJ and their sister organizations Society of Professional Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists to the National African American History Museum on Feb. 21 at 12 p.m. Come if you missed the NAACP trip, or take a second one to experience the displays in depth. Catch the beat with Makaya McCraven
Join Makaya McCraven, an African American drummer, at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 8 p.m. for a performance that blends many genres to create what Something Else Reviews calls “monumental.” Tickets are available here.

Journey off campus for an afternoon at an exhibit
