Work @ the Black explosion

The Black Explosion is the University of Maryland’s first and only Black student newspaper. Established in 1970, the Black Explosion works to conduct reporting on Black campus life, issues, and students. We hire students from all disciplines to work on our incredible staff! We’re looking for individuals with strong digital media, social media, writing, or business skills.

You do not have to be a journalism student to apply!!

Requirements

• Strong engagement with UMD’s Black community

• Able to attend weekly staff meetings (Thursday’s @ 6:30 p.m. in Knight Hall, Room 1206)

• Able to collaborate with other staff members
